Patrick Taylor is a former architect. He has lived in Horwich since the 1970s with his wife Sandra, also from Horwich, where they have raised their family.
Patrick’s historical family connections with the town go back to before the First World War. His late mother, Francoise Taylor, was an established local artist in the 1950s, 60s and 70s, known particularly for her paintings and drawings of industrial Bolton, some of which are now in the permanent collection of Bolton Art Gallery and The Whitworth in Manchester.
Since retiring, Patrick has painted in oil as well as creating a personal style of digital drawing using the mouse as a pen. He is now experimenting with various creative media with a view to developing enduring fictional characters that will ultimately be able to communicate visually and responsively with real people.
His current project along those lines is Women of Age. This exhibition is only the beginning.
