The course will include materials such as heavy-weight cartridge papers, pencils, charcoals, and pastels. The studio is equipped with easels and drawing boards. You can bring your own materials if you so wish.
The course structure will include:
Week 1: This will involve ‘Measuring and Proportions’ as we will learn to measure down the body which will help to gain the right proportions of the form.
Week 2: We will learn how to shape the head/face and features of the body.
Week 3: Putting it all together from weeks 1 & 2 measuring and shaping and including facial features.
Week 4: Tonal and Blending using pencils/charcoals/pastels.
Week 5: Using different methods of drawing techniques and mixed media with the use of assorted materials i.e newspaper/newspaper print/brown paper etc
Week 6: This will involve bringing all of the above lessons together for the final drawings, including paint materials.
Some weeks the lesson plan may vary to suit how we have progressed or try something new that may arise throughout the course.
There will be a tea/coffee break midway through the morning, which also allows everyone to chat about their progress and further discussions about their work.
If anyone finds they have to miss one of the sessions for any valid reason then they are welcome to attend one of the Wednesday evening life drawing sessions or Tuesday mornings instead (these are untutored)
