BL6 studios is excited to be hosting this next event ‘The Soul of the Moon’ by artist Tony Callas.
Tony is one of our new artists residing at out studios. He will be showcasing a body of mixed media paintings inspired by his interest in astrology. He takes us on a journey of how the moon has influenced his work.
He works in a variety of mediums which include acrylics, spray paint, Indian and acrylic ink. He applies these materials using a palette knife, rollers and printing.
The PV is Friday 19th April from 6.30 pm – 9 pm. Then the exhibition continues over the weekend Sat 20th & Sun 21st
from 12 – 4 pm.  *Free Admission

Tony’s Bio and Artist Statement:

Tony was born in Bristol, and worked all his working life in management, construction, and manufacturing. Tony has always participated in the arts, and on retiring in 1999 focused on a passion for using age-old building materials and skills and revived his other passion of creating abstract art. 

Tony is aware that his canvases are individual and personal, and that visitors may not always be comfortable with them. His work is exhibited online, at exhibitions, and in galleries both in Devon and the North of England.

Tony asks people to take time and contemplate when viewing his work, to enjoy exploring their colour, texture, and essence. ,

His work often has obscure names which allows people to appreciate the piece in their own way without shifting their interpretation. 

Tony is always happy to discuss his ideas, and creative processes when you meet him, he asks that please feel free to introduce yourself. 

He also runs workshops that explore ideas and processes in an open and relaxed environment. where he can discuss and experiment with new and exciting collaborative exercises.  Tony works with a variety of mixed media which includes, acrylics, spray paint, Indian and acrylic ink.
