This workshop will be on SUNDAY 7TH JULY FROM 1 PM – 3.30 PM
Gelatine Printmaking
is a method of making monotype prints using a flexible, resilient gelatine plate. Good transfer of the printing inks occurs giving bright, colourful prints.
There are many ways to produce gelatine monotypes but one of the easiest, yet most effective methods, is by using stencils and masks.
Gelatine printmaking is a unique and versatile technique that uses gelatin as the printing medium. Gelatine prints are known for their rich, vibrant colours and ability to capture fine details. This printmaking technique is a great way to create beautiful, one-of-a-kind prints.
Gelatine printmaking is a form of monoprinting, meaning each print you pull is unique. You print from a flat surface from a gelatin plate. No two prints are the same. The emphasis is on the process of creating and experimenting rather than the final outcome.
Equipment used will be:
- Gelatine Plate
- Printing Ink
- Brayer
- Other materials such as stencils/grasses/miscellaneous shapes
- Good quality white printing paper
This workshop will run from 1 pm – 3.30 pm and is £40. This includes all materials. You will go home with your finished prints at the end of this workshop. Refreshments are provided.
This workshop will be facilitated by John Pindar. John is a printmaker living in Bolton in North West England, and he also prints at Hot Bed Press in Salford.
