This exhibition was shown over the weekend of the 22nd July 2022.  It showcased the work of local artist Carole Reed MA, BA(Hons) who led us on a journey through her love of the landscape through the medium of needle felt.

This body of work emerged as Carole was finishing her MA degree during the lockdown.  It was a deeply distressing and difficult time, where Carole realised what people saw of her was not a true version.

It also reflects the outer bubbly, happy side of her personality that she wanted to show to the world, whilst hiding her pain, and that many of you do tend to do.  Behind each of her pieces, there is another side, the deeper inner workings, and emotions that she felt or was thinking at that time whilst doing her master’s degree.

Carole’s artwork is sculptural in nature, it can be funky, abstract, or a moody landscape.  It is designed to be warm and welcoming, reflecting experiences, emotions, and feelings she has had and that many of us will have had too. It is also designed to feel like you want to hug it and reach out to touch it (which you can, gently).

Carole ran a workshop on Sunday 24th, demonstrating the art of needle felt and this was a huge success. Carole will be running more of these workshops in the future!
