Curious about natural dyeing processes?

This activity welcomes beginners while learning the basics in sustainable textile practices. Also included is a brief and informative insight into mordanting which is the initial steps in fibre arts prior to dye or pigment application.

For future reference this will lay the foundation for all fibre arts techniques you wish to explore.

In this hands-on workshop, you will learn the bundle dyeing technique and utilise the historical dye plants harvested from my natural dye garden.

You will arrange the dye stuff onto pre-mordanted Orange Fibre Silk from Italy which is an innovative vegan silk made from the excess orange peel otherwise discarded by the Italian Citrus industry and is truly Luxurious!

The dye stuff once arranged will then be bundled up tightly and steamed.

Time for the Reveal!

The bundles will be unbound and the dye material removed to reveal an impression of their mesmerizing, boundless colour and botanical forms combined with the therapeutic properties and calming citrus scent of the Orange Fibre silk.

The result is a truly unique piece of wearable art. 100% eco-friendly, sustainable, vegan & cruelty free.

Take Away!
