This upcoming exhibition starts with a Preview Night on Friday 23rd September from 7 pm – 9 pm and continues over the weekend Sat & Sun from 12 pm – 4 pm.
Maggie Bruce first picked up a paintbrush about six years ago when she retired and mainly painted in watercolour. In 2018, her approach and style of art completely changed when she became inspired by artist Louise Fletcher who teaches abstract art. This led Maggie on a personal artistic journey and has resulted in her becoming an eclectic and intuitive artist, with a particular love for semi-abstraction. Maggie often mixes abstract and realism while incorporating unique marks with hand-painted collages. Maggie paints with a number of different mediums including acrylics, watercolour, alcohol inks, cold wax and oil and encaustic wax, often combined in one painting! Maggie hopes that her art brings as much joy to the viewer as it does for her when she’s creating it.
We hope when you come and visit this exhibition that you will be inspired and full of joy too at this wonderful collection of artwork!
Maggie great to see you this afternoon – congratulations on a lovely exhibition.
